Alex Fresa is a multimedia artist, musician, and designer originally from North Carolina and currently based in Philadelphia. They are driven by collaboration, experimentation, and juxtaposition to create new sonic and visual experiences.
Working within various modes and industries like graphic design, event production, sound, art, fashion, film, and performance, they constantly strive towards goals of innovation and versatility.
Their creative origins began to take shape in 2014 while studying interactive design at the University of North Carolina Asheville and DJing on college radio. Soon after taking an interest in music production, they formed the Sand Pact project with friend and collaborator Hema Gaia, kicking off with the release of their experimental debut mixtape Malleate in 2016. This launched the duo into the global experimental DJ scene, granting them opportunities such as a headlining tour, an EP release, an original collaborative score, and chances to perform alongside many other artists for events such as Hopscotch Music Festival, Boiler Room, Manifest Music Festival, Club Etiquette, Miami Art Basel, and many more.
After graduating in 2018, Alex quickly landed in the world of screen-printing and graphic design, working among the production team of Kung Fu Nation and Tannis Root Inc. until their closure in 2026. They greatly enjoy finding ways to engage diverse audiences in storytelling through design, and they are known for their attention to detail, unconventional approaches, and striking visual language.
