SAND PACT
2016—Sand Pact is the two-headed, experimental DJ and production project of Alex Fresa and Hema Gaia. Bonded through carnal desires for challenge and defiance, Fresa and Gaia began collaborating in 2016, striking the Triangle music scene with their distinct, layered sounds. Since the time of their first self-released album, Malleate, the two’s personal and combined art explorations have gone through many evolutions. In an ever continuous process of shedding skin, Sand Pact consistently pushes audiences to the edges of vulnerability by delivering fresh and raw sonic experiences.
DEBT STALKER
2014—Originally created under the moniker No Smoking, Debt Stalker is the ongoing independent production and DJ/performance project formed by Alex Fresa in 2014. The project often features open format mixing using a blend of eclectic melodies and motifs accompanied by a series of gritty battle rhythms. Often experimental in nature, their productions and soundscapes greatly focus on genre tropes, juxtaposition, and emotional catharsis through an ever-changing admixture of elements. They attempt to create sonic experiences that feel familiar, yet are dissected and reinterpreted to such a degree that they resemble little of what they once were. Through tools of pattern and human error, Debt Stalker embraces the decks to explore the collective conscience and challenge audiences to experience sound in new ways that are constructed and shared right before them.
